The NICE Challenge Project develops real-world cybersecurity challenges within virtualized business environments that bring students the workforce experience before the workforce. It’s goal is to provide the most realistic experiences to students, at-scale year-round, while also generating useful assessment data about their knowledge, skills, and abilities for educators.
This grant funded cybersecurity workforce development project is developed and hosted at CSU San Bernardino. It has spent the past 8 years creating over 100 cutting edge cybersecurity work role challenges and building a platform to make them available at-scale year-round to educators and students around the United States. To date, they have delivered over a million virtual machines to thousands of students at hundreds of academic institutions, which range from K-12 to 4 Year Universities. The project has a track record of success, receiving millions in funding from several federal agencies, including NSA, CISA, NIST, DHS, and NSF.
